Urban Testing of New Energy Tech

Even if the one-year E-cat heat test at a customer’s plant is eventually deemed successful, there could still be another 2 to 4 years of testing before installations would be permitted in factories, let alone in institutions and residences. Introduction would likely move faster in Asia.

The US appears to have anticipated a need for large-scale safety testing of cutting-edge tech being integrated into a legacy-type urban community. To that end, the State on New Mexico is hosting a site for such a simulated urban environment. See the rational, concept and timeline here:

Disruptive technologies can be dangerous to health and well-being, so the effort to refine and test through real-life situations is warranted. Climate, funding and scope would appear to be key considerations in locating the complex.

A more northern landscape would have been representative of a typical American population center than the arid desert. Whereas, the design-build “backbone” appears essential to collecting data, monitoring and fine-tuning the operational systems, a 22-square-mile mock up is not exactly a manipulative Sim City. Being de-populated, it cannot simulate normal draws of electricity, water and traffic necessary for testing a mix of new equipment and processes.

Perhaps a depressed town in the wintry rust belt might be a better test bed. An unused utility pipeline might even serve as part of that necessary “backbone.”

For breakthrough LENR products, a one-year reliability test is a big factor in investor participation –but not necessarily for market acceptance –or regulatory certification.
Let's see how quickly the CITE test bed rolls out in the high-desert.

Addendum

To whom it should concern:
The above reveals the possibility of a slow-release LENR scenario. As sometimes happens, external events overtake the best laid plans of beavers and innovators.

Sure, some credit for the revival of cold fusion goes to Hagelstein and a few other scientists, but surely not as hard-slugging and risk-taking innovators.

It's a bit much to expect a market for a disruptive and novel energy technology to be born fully charged and formed. -except for a couple of 1945 fission bombs.

And sure, LENR-Cites/LENRG struggle in building a platform to save humanity and the environment. Their endeavours have a hope of advancing such nobel causes -while helping defer biblical prophecy of hunger, market chaos, and strife.

As yet another Climate Summit approaches, it's time for global leaders to stop fiddling and pursue a real solution to the tragic acts of cowardice in Paris and over the Sinai. Acellerated distribution of affordable and clean energy is it.
The experts gathered at the UN's COP-21 conference need to be reminded that:
A solution coming too late, is no solution at all.

Update
On November 24, 2015 Andrea Rossi addressed the Italian Senate on progress with his E-cats. Among other points, he indicated that the one-year idustrial test of the 1 megatwatt unit would wrap-up by March, and that testing of a prototype domestic reactor was well underway.
